The event will be hosted on Wednesday 24th October 2018 at Hotel Africana, Kampala under the theme, “Youth Political & Economic Inclusion: Scenarios for Sustainable Regional Integration”

A total of 120 youth sector stakeholders including key government ministries, agencies and departments as well as youth serving organizations are expected to attend the event. The purpose of the national symposium is to enlighten youth on the state of integration and to generate a national paper to be presented at the upcoming East African Youth Summit (YouLead) in Arusha Tanzania.

 The symposium will focus on 4 themes;
1.    Youth participation and representation in political governance and leadership
2.    Tax Justice and Taxation for Development
3.    Economic Opportunities and Decent work for youth
4.    Youth in Agriculture.

The key outcome of the symposium is a national document that will inform advocacy discussions and engagement with stakeholders in the East African Legislative Assembly and other regional structures to enable youth participation in EAC integration processes.
The success of this event will be made possible through the support of various partners; Open Space Centre, UYONET, ACTIONAID, SEATINI, FES, PPI, Youth Line Forum, ULead, PSFU and The Ministry Of East African Community Affairs.
