On the 4th March,2018, the SDGs Inter-school debate competition took place at Baptist High School with all the 10 schools in the Youth SDGs awareness through Debate program. This was organized to test the knowledge and research the students have on the Sustainable Development Goals. The rainy Sunday morning did not deter the Debaters from being at the venue together with their patrons.

The day started off with breakfast that was served by the host, Baptist High School and the hospitality they gave was unmatched! Right after breakfast the debaters convened in the Main Hall where they were briefed by the Chief Judge and got into the debates.
There were 24 Judges for the tournament to which Fred Ongom from the Northern Uganda Debate Society was the Chief Judge. All the judges that were used in the competition were university students who are all products of the Open Space Centre University Debate Program.
The Debaters were judged on the following; knowledge and research on the topic, fulfilling speaker roles and argumentation.

The motions were formulated by a technical team that comprised of; Fred Ongom, Shabil Wabwire, Ivan Sebastian, Ntambi Blair and Kyeyune William. The theme was SDG 4 – Quality Education. Fagil Mandy, a celebrated academician in Uganda, was the Guest of Honor at the event and also labored to speak to the students and teachers about the need for quality education.
